The Parchment Digital Badges Backpack feature within LTI 1.3 provides a streamlined way for learners to view, manage, and share their earned badges directly within the Canvas platform.
Open Account
In Global Navigation, click the Admin button [1], then click your account name [2].
Open Developer Keys
In Course Navigation, click the Developer Keys link.
Enable Developer Keys
Click the Inherited tab [1]. Locate the backpack key and copy the ID [2], then click the Enable toggle on[3].
Open Settings
In Course Navigation, click the Settings link.
View App Configurations
In the Settings page, Click the Apps tab [1], then click the View App Configurations button [2].
Add App
Click the Add App button.
In the Add App modal, select the By Client ID option from the Configuration Type drop-down menu [1]. Enter the Client ID [2], then click the Submit button [3].
Before installation is complete, a confirmation message displays. Click the Install button.
When an integration on the course level with credentials already exists, a confirmation message displays. Click the Yes, install tool button.
Confirm Installation
Reload the window after installation. In the External Apps page, the Backpack app is added [1]. Additionally, a Backpack icon displays in Global Navigation [2].
