Parchment Digital Badges subscribers can access analytics in their Parchment Digital Badges account to better understand learner achievement and badge performance. Institutions can use these insights to monitor outcomes, evaluate engagement, and report on key metrics. The Analytics workspace consolidates performance data, distribution insights, and badge-level rankings into a single, unified view. It enables users to track badge acceptance, views, and sharing activity, supported by engagement metrics and comparative performance data for deeper analysis.

In the Key performance metrics section, you can get an overview of badge activity in the organization. They are displayed with average views per share, a trend indicator, and comparison to the previous period.
- Learner Engagement [1]: Measures how actively recipients interact with badges based on acceptance (claiming) and sharing behavior.
- External Impact Score [2]:Measures how effectively badges generate visibility per share (total views total shares).
- Core Metrics [3]: The Analytics workspace includes KPI tiles for badges created, badges awarded, acceptance rate, share rate, and public visibility rate.
- Channel Insight Highlights [4]: The dashboard highlights key usage patterns, including the most used awarding method, sharing method, and viewing source, providing quick insight into engagement behavior.
View Awarded Badges Lifecycle
The Awarded Badges Lifecycle shows badge engagement progression across four stages within the selected date range. You can view the awarded badges [1], accepted badges [2], shared badges [3], and viewed badge awards [4]. Each stage includes total counts and conversion percentages relative to the previous stage.
Notes:
- The lifecycle represents the progression of badges awarded within the selected period.
- Each badge is counted once per lifecycle stage.
- Multiple shares or views do not increase stage counts.
- Engagement actions can occur after the award date while still contributing to lifecycle progression.
View Badge Alignments
Badge Alignments enable admins and issuers to compare badge performance, identify which alignment types have higher engagement and external impact, understand how badge design decisions influence performance, and analyze alignment data across organization, issuer, and badge levels. Users can view alignment categories such as skills [1], groups [2], pathways [3], catalog listings [4], and collections [5].
View Badge Distribution Channels
The Badge distribution channels show a breakdown of how badges are awarded, shared, and viewed.
- Awarding methods [1]: Shows how the awarded badges in the selected period are distributed across Manual, LMS, API, etc., shown as percentages.
- Sharing methods [2]: Shows where all shared badge awards come from within the selected period.
- Viewing methods [3]: Shows how all external views within the selected period are distributed across platforms where shared badges were viewed.

- Over 2 years: Monthly
Overall scores are calculated using Learner Engagement (65%) and External Impact (35%). External Impact is normalized relative to the highest-performing badge.
The data table includes badge-level performance metrics, such as awards [1], acceptance rates [2], shares and sharing methods [3], views [4], engagement scores [5], and external impact scores [6], along with trend indicators [7].
