In Mastery Connect, you can use IgniteAI Item Authoring to generate multiple-choice questions from your instructional materials, helping educators quickly create standards-aligned assessment items.
Note: This guide applies to institutions who have opted-in to IgniteAI's Item Authoring feature preview. If your user interface displays differently, the feature has not been enabled at your institution.

00:09: In the Assessment Builder, click the Plus button or the Add Item button, then select Generate with AI.
00:17: In the Item Authoring window, add source content by pasting text into the Text field or by clicking Upload a file to upload a supported document.
00:27: In the Topic Focus field, enter a brief description of what the generated items should focus on. This field is optional and supports up to 500 characters.
00:37: Next, select a Standard from the drop-down menu and choose a Destination Item Bank where the generated items will be saved.
00:46: To further refine item rigor and language, click More options and select a Depth of Knowledge level, a Bloom’s Taxonomy level, and a preferred language.

Add Item
In the Assessment Builder, click the Plus (+) button [1] or the Add Item button [2], then select Generate with AI [3].
Add Source Material
In the Item Authoring window, add source content by pasting text into the Text field [1] or by clicking Upload a file [2] to upload a supported document.

Review Generated Items
In the Generated Item Preview window, review the generated item and manage it by clicking the Delete icon [1], Cancel [2], Regenerate [3], or Edit & Review [4].
