What data is available in Accessibility Analytics?

Intelligent Insights is a legacy add-on product. Its advanced analytics are now available in Canvas Plus and Canvas Next and its AI-powered Insights (IgniteAI Ask Your Data) are now available in Canvas Next.

Accessibility Analytics dashboard provides you with an institutional view of course compliance. By aggregating data from the Canvas Course Accessibility Checker, it scales individual scan results to the account and sub-account levels for broader oversight.

While the Course Accessibility Checker provides a tactical, course-level overview for remediation, the new Accessibility Analytics dashboard elevates this data into high-level strategic insights for administrators.

The Accessibility Analytics dashboard enables Intelligent Insights users to:

Monitor Compliance at Scale: Track accessibility compliance across the entire institution at the account or sub-account level.
Identify and Prioritize: Visualize overall accessibility health through clear metrics, flag high-risk courses, and pinpoint critical problem areas to allocate support resources effectively.
Filter Comprehensively: Tailor the dashboard to focus strictly on relevant course scopes and specific accessibility issue types.
Drive Actionable Remediation: Leverage the integrated communication tool to send customizable, contextual Canvas messages directly to instructors to guide their remediation efforts.

Notes:

The dashboard leverages the results of the Canvas Course Accessibility Checker; therefore, only scanned courses are reflected in the data. To maintain an up-to-date overview, regular course scans are advised.
New scan results may take up to 4 hours to appear on the dashboard.

To identify the critical problem areas, use the charts to understand where most compliance issues are

5. View Tabs

The Accessibility Analytics dashboard organizes its course list into two tabs, so users can view scanned and unscanned courses separately and act on each group.

6. View Scanned Courses Tab

Scanned Courses is selected by default. It displays the existing Courses table, showing courses scanned by the Canvas Course Accessibility Checker within the selected time frame.

7. View Unscanned Courses Tab

Unscanned Courses displays courses in the current filtered scope that have no recent scan.

8. Search Courses

Search Courses Runs within the active tab only.

9. View Message Teachers

Messaging runs within the active tab only. Bulk messaging reaches every course listed in the active tab and follows the applied filters. The Unscanned Courses tab uses its own message template.

10. View Course

To dig deeper into a single course, click on a course to view its additional course details

11. View Checker on a course

Navigate to the checker on a course

12. View Course in Canvas

To open a course, click the view course in Canvas to see its exact open issues

13. Message Teacher

To initiate contextual messaging for one or more courses, click the message teacher
