What data is available for individual courses in Accessibility Analytics?

Intelligent Insights is a legacy add-on product. Its advanced analytics are available in Canvas Plus and Canvas Next and its AI-powered Insights (IgniteAI Ask Your Data) are available in Canvas Next.

Course-level data in Accessibility Analytics helps you understand exactly where accessibility issues exist and their severity, so you can prioritize the right fixes and support the right instructors.

From the Course Risk Assessment section, you can open any course to see a detailed side panel with severity levels for all open issues, ranging from critical problems like missing alt text to low-severity items like overly long headings. Course attributes show instructors, enrollment, status, total open issues, and the last scan date. From the same panel, you can jump directly to the course in Canvas or message the course's instructors.

What data is available for individual courses in Accessibility Analytics?

1. Open Accessibility Analytics

In the Intelligent Insights dropdown menu, click the AccessibilityAnalytics link.

2. Open Individual Course

In Course Risk Assessment section, click a course title link to open the detailed course risk assessment.

3. View Individual Course Risk Assessment

In the Course Risk Assessment side panel, the SeverityLevels and CourseAttributes display.

4. Severity Levels

The SeverityLevels lists all open issues in the course.

Severity levels are:

CriticalSeverity which includes missing alt text, alt text is filename and table header missing.
HighSeverity which includes table header scope missing and text contrast.
MediumSeverity which includes table caption missing, heading 1 in document, skipped heading level, mis formatted list, and adjacent link.
LowSeverity which includes alt text is too long, and heading is too long

5. Course Attributes

CourseAttributes lists Instructors, number of enrolled students, status, total open issues, total critical and high issues, and last scanned date.

6. View Course in Canvas

To open the course in Canvas, click the ViewCoursein Canvas button.

7. Message Course Teacher(s)

To message course instructors, click the MessageTeacher(s) button.
