As a Canvas Catalog admin, you can set a measurement type to apply to all listings in a catalog and its subcatalogs. The measurement option specifies the type of credit that a user receives upon completion of a catalog course. Available options include credits, points, CEUs and hour.
Users can view the selected measurement in Catalog listings, their Student Dashboard, and transcripts.
Note: The default measurement options are inherited from the parent, but a subcatalog can set a different measurement option.
Open Admin
To open the User Menu, click your username [1]. Then, click the Admin link [2].
Open Catalogs
In the navigation menu, click the Catalogs tab.
Select Catalog
To open an existing catalog, click the catalog name link.
Click the Measurement drop-down menu.
Select Measurement Type
Select a measurement option.
Save Catalog Info
To save the catalog info, click the Save button.
The selected measurement applies to all listings in the catalog and subcatalogs.
View Listing Details
Learners see the selected unit and its value on listing cards, the listing details page, program summaries, their Student Dashboard, certificates of completion, and transcripts.
Note: The selected unit applies to every listing in that catalog or subcatalog unless a subcatalog sets its own override.
