Do I just type a bunch of underscores to make the "blank"?
Canvas desperately needs a feature that allows instructors to bulk edit the dates of announcements. I import the announcements from the previous semester, most of which have nothing to change in the text. But ALL of them need to have their release dates updated, which takes a long time to do one-at-a-time. I've used a…
Release notes outline upcoming customer-impacting changes that are expected to display in beta and/or production environments. Please note that features considered for future development are not included in the notes. New to release notes? Visit Understanding Release Notes for a guide on how to read and use this document.…
Hello, I'm writing to see if anyone else has noticed this change in Canvas and can explain when and why it happened. I can't find anything in the release notes about it, and Canvas support says it is "intended." Checkpoints in student view previously displayed directly below and slightly indented from the discussion forum,…
Canvas deploys contain code changes that are intended to fix bugs, improve performance, and prepare for new features. These deploys take place every two weeks and can be tested in the beta environment before the production deploy date indicated in the title of this document. New to deploy notes? Visit Understanding Release…
I'm trying to figure out whether Canvas Portfolio will work for me this year with my 11th graders. We are introducing a curriculum that has a portfolio component but does not specify the platform. I would like to try Evaluation Portfolios but am confused by the information in the guides. The Guide for Portfolio says Once…
Does anyone know why the Attendance feature is not working in Canvas? We have faculty that are trying to do their roll call this morning and it's not working.
Symptoms: Creating a new Announcement (or Discussion) throws Canvas's generic error page: "Sorry, Something Broke." In Quiz question editors, the Rich Content Editor (RCE) text box doesn't render — instead of the WYSIWYG editor, you just see a stray lowercase "p" where the editor should be. Happens consistently across…
How do I change the order of the listed Discussions to coincide with the Modules; i.e. Module 1, Module 2, Module 3, etc. They are currently listed randomly. I checked all the settings and read the available information to no avail. HELP! Thank you.
How do I recover a deleted page from a course?
I am setting up my courses for this year and I realized that when I opend the mastery-based gradebook, there is no color coding. When I open last years's course that had color-coding last time I opened it in the spring, it no longer has colors. The colors appear in the individual student view, but not in the all class view.

Parchment Digital Badges Community, Knowing that a skill is in demand is useful. But it is rarely enough. Imagine a learner exploring a skill like critical thinking, data analysis, or cybersecurity. Dear Parchment Digital Badges Community, Building a successful credential program is about more than issuing badges. Which issuers and programs are driving the…
Dear Parchment Digital Badges Community, A skill doesn't exist in isolation. The same skill can lead to very different opportunities depending on where you are in the world. Data analysis might be one of the fastest-growing skills in one market, while employers somewhere else are struggling to find cybersecurity talent.…
Identifying students who need extra support is one of the most important responsibilities of an institution, and it's also one of the hardest things to do early. By the time a student is clearly struggling, the window for meaningful intervention has often already closed. That's why we're introducing predictive insights in…
Skills gaps are widening, and employees are asking for growth they can't always find in generic, one-size-fits-all training. For a lot of organizations, that leaves a hard question: keep buying training off the shelf, or build a workforce university of your own, one designed around the actual skills your employees need to…
