Greetings, Our institution has recently acquired Canvas LMS and I had a question related to the third-party tool Respondus Lockdown Browser. When the tool is installed at the institution level, the tool requires one of the placements to be in the course menu. Is there a way to restrict from this tool being automatically…
We have used Canvas and JMC for years. Our teachers are asking about setting up a gradebook sync. Has anyone done this with JMC? If so we have some questions. Do all staff have to be involved in the sync or can we run it for a smaller subset of staff? Do all assignments have to be synced, or can the teacher designate which…
Hey Canvas Community, Quick question about restricted words in the Gradebook export/import. When I export the Gradebook CSV, make edits, and re-import, it seems like some terms are not allowed (example: “Final”). • Does anyone know the full list of restricted/reserved words for Gradebook CSV import? • And if there’s an…
One of our faculty accidentally deleted an assignment. I restored it by using the "undelete" option, but grades that had been manually assigned have disappeared. Is there a way to restore those grades?
Is there a way for course owners (and administrators) to see directly from the course’s Studio gallery whether each video is embedded in Canvas, and if so, to quickly identify which page it appears on?
Does anyone have experience or know of any tools that can be applied to Canvas Studio videos (during video capture or post upload) where the narrator's strong accent can be 'softenend' in order to generate more accurate captions?
Is there any way to identify Canvas Studio videos on a course and institutional level where the automatically generated captions have been reviewed and updated? This filtering mechanism would be of great value when updating captions that aren't that accurate (eg. scientific terms).
I am in the process of updating an adjunct training course that I have used and maintained for several years. When running the Canvas Link Validator, all of my existing Canvas training resources—including official Canvas guides, documentation links, and embedded training materials—are now being flagged as broken. As a…
Students will be taking quizzes asynchronously over a week. I want them to be able to review the questions and their responses for a limited time after they take each quiz. I can do that for the responses, either using show/hide dates or checking "only once." However, I don't see any way to restrict their access to the…
Rolling out a new system is just the beginning. The Adoption Corner explores the small, intentional strategies that help institutions move beyond implementation and toward sustained, meaningful adoption. Each post connects day-to-day practices to long-term success using the Instructure Adoption Success Model. What’s…
I've searched the community and guide and see results for New Quizzes when using preview. I saved the preview version of an exam in Classic because a student was having technical problems, and we couldn't find another way for him to take the test quickly. But I cannot find the results anywhere, even though I submitted the…
