We’re excited to announce an enhancement to the listing creation workflow in Canvas Catalog. Based on feedback from admins managing multiple listings, we've improved the way you duplicate existing configurations. This update makes the process faster, more consistent, and easier to manage.
What’s New?
We’ve renamed the “Copy Listing” feature to “Copy existing listing settings” to better reflect what it actually does. When you create a new listing, you’ll now see this updated dropdown with a new option:
- New checkbox: Include certificate from original listing
- If selected, the certificate settings from the original listing will be copied to your new listing.
- If not selected, the certificate field will be blank so you can set up a new one if needed.
Smarter Setup with More Clarity
When you select a listing to copy, Catalog will pull over the title, description, and pricing details. If you check the box, it will also include the original certificate settings. Canvas course associations are not copied, and if you leave the certificate box unchecked, that field stays empty so you can add a new one later or skip it altogether.
Why It Matters
Many Catalog admins create multiple similar listings and rely on consistent certificate designs. In the past, the certificate had to be added manually each time, which introduced extra steps and potential errors. This enhancement delivers increased efficiency by reducing manual rework, greater consistency by keeping branding and formatting aligned, and an improved admin experience through a clearer, more flexible duplication flow.
Built for How You Work
Whether you're offering seasonal courses, department-specific content, or recurring training, this update supports faster and more accurate setup. The checkbox gives you control over what is carried forward.
Try It Out
Go to your Catalog admin dashboard, start creating a new listing, and use the updated Copy existing listing settings option. Select an existing listing, choose whether to include the certificate, and finish your setup in less time.
