We're writing to share an important update regarding our new Portfolio developer key system. This change is designed to streamline your integration and ensure a more stable and unified experience going forward.
We are announcing the deprecation of the old, region-specific Portfolio LTI keys. This deprecation is scheduled to take effect on March 21, 2026.
Why the Change? When Portfolio’s LTI was first made available, we utilized multiple, region-specific keys for various portfolio integrations, as well as older, non-regional keys. While this served its purpose, it often led to confusion and unnecessary complexity for our customers.
When Portfolios became generally available on November 15, 2025, we released the integration to all Canvas customers using a single, unified LTI key. Moving forward, we are going to support this, unified LTI key in an effort to simplify the integration process, reduce the potential for errors, and make future maintenance easier for everyone.
Ensure you’re using the unified Developer KeyTo ensure uninterrupted service and functionality for your portfolio integrations, all customers must ensure their instance’s Portfolio integration is using the newer single, unified LTI key: ID 170000000001986.
