You can join a user group from the User Groups page or through an invitation to join a user group.
View All User Groups
To access all available user groups, click the Groups option in the Navigation menu [1].
You can also hover over the Groups option and click the All Feature User Groups link [2].
Join an invite-only user group
User Groups in the Instructure Community are invite-only and are only available if you have been invited to join the group. If you are invited to join a group, you will receive a notification in the Community and an email notification (if you have community email notifications enabled). You must accept the invitation before you can access any group content.
Accept email invitation
To accept an email invitation, open the email from the Instructure Community and click the Check it out button.
Note: Emails from the Instructure Community may get blocked by some email filtering systems and might end up in your spam folder. If you have been invited to a group and don't see an email, check your email filters and spam folder for any emails from Instructure Community.
Join the group
On the Group home page, you can accept the invitation and join the group or decline the invitation.
To join a group, click the Join button [1].
To decline an invitation, click the Decline button [2]. If you decline an invitation, you cannot view the content of a group and will need to be invited again to join the group later.
Accept invitation via notification
To accept a group invitation on the Community site, click the Notifications icon [1] in the Navigation menu. Then locate and click the group invitation notification [2]. The notification will read: "Please join my group: [group name here]".
