Exclude from Gradebook by Default

Is it possible to exclude an assignment group from showing up in the gradebook by default?

We have a school that is using a category of assignment for a daily submission question that does not impact the student grade and is not graded. Because there are so many of these that show up in the gradebook, it slows down the gradebook exponentially. They do not grade these submissions at all and it would be simpler if these didn't show up in the gradebook.

Hi, @JenniferRemy!

According to How do I filter columns and rows in the Gradebook? it's possible to create a filter to only display selected assignment groups. I tested this out in a demo course (with fake students) and was able to select multiple assignment groups. After logging out and back in, the filter still displayed by default.

We are aware of the filtering option. The issue that we are running in to is that the gradebook takes so long to load as it is, that our mentors are having difficulty even getting to the point where they are able to apply the filter in the first place.

We were hoping to find a way to exclude a category on a course level without having to go through the regular filter options in the gradebook.
