Hey Canvas Community, Quick question about restricted words in the Gradebook export/import. When I export the Gradebook CSV, make edits, and re-import, it seems like some terms are not allowed (example: “Final”). • Does anyone know the full list of restricted/reserved words for Gradebook CSV import? • And if there’s an…
One of our faculty accidentally deleted an assignment. I restored it by using the "undelete" option, but grades that had been manually assigned have disappeared. Is there a way to restore those grades?
I am in the process of updating an adjunct training course that I have used and maintained for several years. When running the Canvas Link Validator, all of my existing Canvas training resources—including official Canvas guides, documentation links, and embedded training materials—are now being flagged as broken. As a…
Students will be taking quizzes asynchronously over a week. I want them to be able to review the questions and their responses for a limited time after they take each quiz. I can do that for the responses, either using show/hide dates or checking "only once." However, I don't see any way to restrict their access to the…
I've searched the community and guide and see results for New Quizzes when using preview. I saved the preview version of an exam in Classic because a student was having technical problems, and we couldn't find another way for him to take the test quickly. But I cannot find the results anywhere, even though I submitted the…
Would anyone have CSS code that limits an instructor's ability to change the course code field on the Settings page? If the course code field can be hidden that would also work for our needs. We need to allow instructors the ability to change the course name, but not the course code. Any help is greatly appreciated!
I know there's a guide* on how to make Time Adjustments through the Moderate tab. We really should be able to do that through the People screen as well. Only going the the Moderate tab is counter-intuitive as well as a bunch of unnecessary extra clicking. And what if I want to go ahead and enter accommodations before I…
Canvas allows us to copy the same question into multiple Item Banks. When making a quiz, you can select X number of questions to be randomly pulled from an Item Bank. If I'm making a quiz with multiple Item Banks, and the same question appears in 2 of those Item Banks, does Canvas know to not pull the same question twice?…
I have a test (new quiz) that asks students to do some computational or mathematical process and come up with a few specific answers. This is a fill-in-the-blank question. This can be the result of a mathematical, coding, or analytical process. In my case, it is a SQL query. I follow up each of these with an essay question…
We had a situation where an instructor meant to import their course content into next terms course but accidentally imported the content onto the same course thus wiping out all the student grades, submissions, quiz data, and discussion prompt content. I was able to download the content from the Beta Environment, but there…
