I want students to be able to see the assignment details but not be able to submit their assignments until a certain date. Canvas allows you to set the "Available from" date but doing this hides the assignment details. Is there a way to do it without needing to duplicate the assignment details elsewhere?
Hello, this is a question I have had continuously for over a decade. When I type free-form comments and manually enter grades on a rubric and then navigate away from the page without tapping "submit assessment," I return to a completely blank rubric—even if I have saved other comments on the page. I know this from many…
Why did the post date in the discussion forum (in speed grader) change from an actual date to a description (ex. 3 weeks ago)?
Hi! There were 2 accounts detected under my name, but I only created 1 account. How can I delete the unused account using the ID?
Hi, Since the pandemic, I’ve been administering exams via Canvas quizzes with LockDown Browser. Students bring their laptops to class, launch LockDown Browser, and complete the quiz on Canvas. So far, this has worked smoothly, but I’ve been wondering about a potential loophole: Could a student provide their credentials to…
Is it possible to exclude an assignment group from showing up in the gradebook by default? We have a school that is using a category of assignment for a daily submission question that does not impact the student grade and is not graded. Because there are so many of these that show up in the gradebook, it slows down the…
I'm seeing inconsistent behavior when viewing student Discussion Checkpoint submissions in SpeedGrader: Student comment (reply): When a test student submitted only a comment/reply, it did NOT appear in SpeedGrader Initial post: When a different test student submitted only an initial post (without completing other…
Hi all, We’re trying to determine whether Canvas provides a supported way to retrieve New Quizzes (Quizzes.Next) attempt interaction logs programmatically, so we can warehouse them in BigQuery similar to other analytics datasets. What we need For each student attempt on a New Quiz, we want the same details visible in the…
The new Microsoft Education LTI is pretty snazzy. It has a login issue for us though. The tool constantly asks students to login. Sometimes, when they launch from Canvas, they get a 365 login screen. Annoying? Yes, but it still works. Sometimes, students (and faculty) get a screen saying the assignment is not available.…
To the Canvas Product Team, I am writing to request a new global or course-level setting for the Rich Content Editor (RCE). Currently, when images are uploaded or embedded, Canvas defaults to displaying the full image. For many lab-based and data-heavy courses—such as my current molecular biology lab course—we often need…
