Indication of Discussion Posts to Regrade

Hi, everyone,

I have weekly Discussions set up for small groups in Canvas, with a rubric for grading. Typically they require an original post and a reply or two.

When I grade the posts, I will find some where the student did not add the reply. I add a note asking them to add their replies and then I will regrade. Here's where I run into trouble. Canvas does not indicate that there are new posts to grade for these students. I have to manually find them.

Am I missing a setting or feature what will make these resubmitted posts with new replies show up in my To-Do list?

@tengrrl Do you have the updated Discussion platform where you can set checkpoints? I've included a picture of what this looks like.

The checkpoints are the replies, and you can set up a different due date for them and you can see the replies easier and make comments on the lack of replies. This article states that you should have the new redesign.

Hello, @tengrrl! In addition to @jcarpenter1's comment, if you enable discussion checkpoints, although there will be no notifications for new posts or replies, you can view and grade any ungraded replies to the topic, as well as any additional replies from a student, in SpeedGrader.

Thanks for your reply, @El Rabe. I don't have the Checkpoint deadlines, so that solution doesn't work. It appears as though I'm going to have to keep trying to find everything manually. Not the end of the world, I'm just afraid I'll miss something.
