Canvas Gradebook Not Sorting Correctly

I am having an issue where my gradebook will not sort the assignments in date order. It seems to only impact discussion board assignments, but I cannot see a rationale for why they will not group themselves with their counterparts.

The only factor that is new is that I am using the new feature where I can set a different deadline for the initial post and the responses. These are within two days of each other though and should not result in wildly different placement within the gradebook.

I can do some workarounds, but I am hoping for a resolution if anyone has one!

@AllisonLassiter When I test this, I find that all of my discussions with checkpoints are going alphabetical. Is this what happens for you? Also, I will put a ticket in with Instructure support, as I see this same thing happening.

Yes! I hadn't noticed until you mentioned, but that does seem to be the case.

I'm having this same issue, but without discussions being part of it. When I sort my gradebook by Date - Newest to Oldest, some assignments show up way out of order. In my case the issue seems to be triggered when I have assignments that aren't assigned to everyone in the class. Maybe having a due date for some students and no due date for others (because it isn't assigned to them) is causing a sorting problem.

Of course, I can manually move assignment order, but then new assignments just get added to the end (even after the category subtotals) and not the front. This is a hassle. This sorting issue really needs to get fixed. How does a message get to developers? Or is that even possible?
