Using a random number throughout a quiz

Hello, I am submitting this feature request here in the general forum since the previous Feature Themes/Ideas process is no longer available.

Description

An engineering instructor came to us with a need to be able to generate a random number in a quiz that can then be retained throughout all the questions in the quiz. This is currently not possible in Classic or New Quizzes.

Impact

The instructor has built their own script to be able to do this is Classic Quiz, but it requires creating a quiz for each student, which is labor-intensive to set up and manage. Also, with Classic Quiz eventually being sunsetted, this is not a long-term solution. They have colleagues who are interested and have asked to see their solution, so there is interest in this functionality.

Our instructors in quantitative fields (math, engineering, business) want this, too! This feature, available in other LMS products, would allow for more effective practice quizzing (take a practice quiz multiple times to reinforce learning) as well as more secure exams (students would each get a slightly different version of the exam question). Please explore building this functionality in New Quizzes.

I think this is a great idea, and I could really benefit from this feature too. I frequently need to ask multiple questions about a single set of randomized inputs, and that's not possible given the current limitations of Canvas.

Dropped Scores
I have Canvas set to drop the lowest quiz score, however, my students can only barely tell that the grade text is slightly grey when dropped. Can it have a tag like the "missing" and "exempt" ones in the student gradebook?
Batch edit assignment due dates by section
My Canvas shell has three different sections that all meet at different times throughout the week.
