Re-entering a Quiz with LockDown Browser

Hi,

My institution is starting to use Respondus LockDown Browser. My question concerns an exam using the 'New Quizzes' engine that requires the use of LockDown Browser. Assuming that the 'early exit' feature is enabled in the LockDown Browser settings, if a student exits the exam early, will Canvas allow them to re-enter the exam?

This is what Respondus told me when I asked their tech support the same question: "The ability to re-enter an exam is controlled by Canvas. If the Canvas server permits re-entry, LockDown Browser will not interfere."

Hey @TBaggenstos ,

While I am no longer at an institution that uses Lockdown Browser, I can tell you that all lockdown browser does is it opens the software when the student opens the exam. LockDown browser does not control the student's access to quizzes, that's all based on how you have it set up in the quiz settings.

So yes, your student can re-open the exam, it will just re-open it in lockdown browser like it did before.
