I am sitting and calculating grades. As described for the grade calculation of an assignment category, the grades are weighted, based on the number of points each assignment is worth.
However, I would like to have this calculation non-weighted. Currently, I have to recalculate all the scores to a relative scale and manually reenter the score for full student transparency. This takes a lot of time.
As a solution, it would be great if there was an option to define whether the average calculation in an assignment category should be weighted or not. This option could be added to the same panel as to where the assignment category rules (to drop lowest score of an assignment) are defined. This should be easy to implement.
Furthermore, the grade calculation should be transparent for students. In the gradebook where the average score of an assignment category is shown, a generic text describing any applied rule and how the averaged was calculated (weighted or non-weighted) should be explicitly expressed.
