Hi to the community,
I understand the two reporting options in Canvas for Outcomes. I need a curriculum overview report to show what outcomes from the institutional menu are being utilized in each individual course.
What we have done:
Our accrediting body, AACN, has a set of Domains and Competencies that nursing must meet, depending on the level of program (ADN, BSN, MSN, FNP, etc). I have entered all of the domains and competencies as "outcomes" on the institutional list, and in the courses, we are attaching these "outcomes" to the assignments - although they are not scored. Rather, we have given them a scale of not met to exceeds mastery. But they do not count as a grade. In truth, right now, we don't want instructors to score them - they're just there to show accreditation what assignments support which competencies (for now).
If they are scored on an assignment, the Outcomes report picks them up, but if not, they are not picked up on the report. Is there a way to run a report that picks up every outcome attached to a rubric/assignment? Or can I have a "Test" student have their assignment scored, so the report picks it up?
What I want:
I'm trying to figure out a way to make Canvas show me what outcomes are attached to which assignment rubrics/courses as a way to map these competencies to our curriculum. I know that I can do it by hand, but as courses, assignments, and evaluation rubrics change, I would like to just be able to run a report at the end of the semester that can help us see these, instead of having to manage it in a spreadsheet. The data is there in Canvas, I just need to figure out how to pull it out.
Any insight is appreciated.
Thank you -
Mary
