Google Assignment LTI unable to link to account

Question

One of the teachers has registered for Google Services in her Canvas account. However, she is unable to link the Google Assignment LTI as an external tool for assignment submissions. The error message is "account not linked" after  clicking continue at this step:

When I try to go into this teacher's course as an admin and create the assignment, I get the same error message. However, I do not have this problem with my own classes in Canvas. It doesn't seem to be connected to a specific laptop or browser. It seems to be a Canvas issue with her particular account.  Any ideas how to fix this?

We have tried-

* removing google drive from registered services and adding it again.
* making sure popups are allowed
* Used an incognito window
* made sure third party cookies are allowed.

We have had a a couple of teachers report this as well.  Some teachers saw this issue on Friday (and we tried the same things you tried) and then saw it had resolved itself by Monday.  But I had another teacher report it this week.   I wonder if it's a @Google issue rather than a Canvas issue (??). Did it "resolve itself" for you?  Or are you still having the issue?   I wish there was a better way to report these issue to Google — open to suggestions!
