Hello Canvas Community,
Our institution is planning a migration from Banner to Workday Student and is beginning to evaluate the best approach to integrating Workday with Canvas.
Our current integration is:
Banner → Ethos API → ILP → Canvas
We would like to learn from other institutions that have already migrated to Workday and integrated Workday Student with Canvas.
For those who have implemented this integration, I would appreciate any recommendations or lessons learned regarding:
- Workday Student → Canvas integration architecture
- Use of Canvas SIS Import/API versus middleware or integration platforms
- How you handle students, instructors, courses, sections, terms, and enrollments
- How add/drop and enrollment status changes are synchronized to Canvas
- Recommended integration/middleware solutions
- Any challenges or issues you encountered during implementation
- Documentation or resources you would recommend
We are particularly interested in understanding what has worked well for other higher education institutions and what you would recommend avoiding.
Any guidance, architecture examples, documentation, or lessons learned would be greatly appreciated.
