Hi Team.

We have a number of teachers who are support teachers and with our setup are not officially associated with particular classes.

This means that they cannot easily access those courses to see content or assessments to help students with.

Is there an account setting or account type that would allow a staff member to access "any" class course? Ideally if they could add them to a quick favourites list that would be great too.

Hi @MrVi,

Some sort of (sub)account administrator role is likely what you're looking for here. Admins can access any course under the subaccount of which they are an admin. Depending on their needs, they could be full admins for the subaccount, or their abilities could be limited via a custom role. Setting this up would need to be done by an existing administrator, which could be a limiting factor here depending what your current administrative team would allow.

Once added as an admin, the users could access any course through the admin account menu, but the courses would not show up on their dashboard unless they enrolled themselves in the course (which would be something else the exisitng admin team may or may not want to be done).

Yes, observer enrollment could work for this as well, but depending on your school structure and enrollments it may require a lot more work and maintenance than an admin role. With an observer, you'd have to make the user an observer of every teacher, and ensure that's done any time a new teacher comes in (which could be laborious if you have a lot of teacher changes, or not bad at all if you're pretty stable there). If you go this route, the courses WILL appear on the dashboard for the observers which is nice on one level, but could cause some issues depending how many courses this would be.

This is definitely an area where there's more than one solution available and you'll just nee dot fgure out which works the best for you.

Thanks Chris, it looks like the observer role is also not available in our deployment so I will have a look at the other option you offered.
