Skill Tracker

Question

I am trying to create a skill tracker in Canvas for a veterinary technology program.  My students need to perform a technical (Hands On) skill in front of the instructor.  I want the student to then submit an assignment, or quiz/survey answering a few questions about the specific scenario.  The assignment/Quiz is ust to answer questions about who observed, date, Patient name and other patient details.  I only want the grade to be based on a rubric of Pass or Fail for tracking purposes.  This tracker is not meant to be a graded course, but just to track skills learned seperatly from regular courses.  I have currently created a quiz with the needed questions and a rubric for the pass/fail.  I want the gradebook to reflect the Rubric, and not the quiz score.  suggestions on streamlining this.

Perhaps a way to design this is using separate assignments Make the quiz one assignment, that doesn't count towards the total grade. And a separate assignment for the hands-on aspect would be a non-submission assignment with the rubric attached that your grade.

Quiz is handy if you might want to download the responses, but you could have a simpler interface if you set up a document in the form that you want the students in and set it up as the basefile for a student annotation assignment.
