Showcase Portfolio viewing by Instructor

Can an Instructor who receives a Showcase Portfolio link that is shared by students and includes an assignment submission for that instructor's course actually view that assignment (or will the instructor also see the "hidden for public share" message that other external viewers who receive the link get?

They cannot see the links - it is a major blocker for us, we are encouraging users to exclusively use the "Add new content" for now. We are anticipating that many students will have to redo their work after they use the "find existing assignment" and can't actually share it with no warning.

Did you mean you're encouraging students to exclusively use "Add new Project" rather than "Add Course Assignment" when sharing their Showcase Portfolio with an instructor?

Yes, add new project no matter what, discouraging the add course assignment. If a student is just gathering there work in one place, add course assignment is fine, but any attempt at sharing would need to select the create new evidence option.
