Extra time the next day for quiz

I teach at a high school and my class periods are 48 minutes long. I have students that receive 50% and 100% extra time on everything. I would like to know if there is any way to provide those students with the time they need to finish a test in the quiz program if they need to use their extra time the next day in class. I do not want them to be able to access their test after they leave my room until they enter my class the next day.

The answer depends on whether you are using New Quizzes or Classic Quizzes. One way to tell which is which is if you have to click a "Build" button to edit the quiz questions, you are using a New Quiz.

If you are using New Quizzes, you can have the quiz be 48 minutes long the first day, and then add time and reopen it the next day.

On Classic Quizzes, there isn't an easy way to do that.
Perhaps you could play around with having the quiz be 24 hours and 48 minutes long, and change the access code at the end of the first lecture, sharing the new access code at the beginning of the next one.
I haven't tried it, but that seems to be the behavior according to the following link, where it says "[...]if you change the access code while students are taking the quiz, the students may be forced out of the quiz as soon as they answer a question, click the Next button, or cause a page refresh. Students must start the quiz again using the new access code.": What options can I set in a quiz?
