A wish: being able to use a minus-function when inviting students for assignment in the case that it is for a class, but with the exception of for instance 2 students: For exampe: class2425_1, -Mildred, -Henry
Hello there, @ErnoMijland ...
I wasn't real sure what you were referring to when I first read through your posting. However, I'm taking an educated guess that you are asking about the "Assign To" options when editing an assignment in your course. It sounds like you would like to assign an assignment to everyone *except* certain students. Is this correct? If so, there is actually a separate area here in the Canvas Community website where you can submit your ideas that you'd like to see incorporated into Canvas. Fortunately, there has already been an idea submitted (way back in 2015) that has gotten lots of comments from Community members all around the globe. The status is currently "Open". Here's the link:

I'd encourage you to follow this idea so that you might have the chance of voting on it in the future.
Please know that the idea process is going through some changes right now, so you'll want to check out this blog posting: Turning Your Feedback into Better Prioritization a... - Instructure Community - 637959
And finally, there's a separate area to submit your ideas. (This area where you posted your question is more for asking questions about Canvas ... not as much for submitting your ideas). Here are Guides for you on how to submit a new idea (though you won't need to submit for your above idea...so as to avoid duplication of ideas):
I hope this will be of some help to you.
The current placement of the "Submit" button creates a "slip" in user behavior where habit-clicking "Next" leads to an accidental final submission. I think Canvas could easily fix this by: Moving the Submit button away from the navigation buttons (maybe above the question instead of below it) and/or Adding a "Confirm…

I want the student to then submit an assignment, or quiz/survey answering a few questions about the specific scenario. The assignment/Quiz is ust to…
First Feature Suggestion: Display Last Date of Attendance when using Canvas Attendance Tool One of the required pieces of information I must collect is the last date of attendance when a student violates my attendance policy. This date is federally required for institutions to determine a student’s withdrawal date under 34…
Hi everyone! I would love to hear your suggestions and best‑practice tips on implementing copyright settings. https://embed.app.guidde.com/playbooks/8eYgHHmwTXKMLxDW4LqEDX
This is my first time using the new discussion "checkpoints". I'm hoping the multiple due dates are effective, but using the "checkpoints" does seem to create other problems: They only allow for ONE "reply to topic". The way I use discussions in some of my classes is to allow for students to ask MULTIPLE questions per…
