I need to transfer material posted in last semesters class into this semester. I dont see the path to do that.

In general, you'll use the course import tool for this. The What is the Course Import Tool? - Instructure Community - 21 guide should show you all of the steps needed (there is even a short video included there if you prefer). Should be a pretty quick and simple process really.

My class policy is that late assignments can be accepted at professor discretion, but they will have a 50% penalty. This is a gate you pass through once, and there are no further penalties.
