Parent account

Question

I accidentally created a student account instead of a parent account. Now, when I try to create a parent account with my email address, Canvas won't let me do so because it says the email address is already in use. How do I resolve this error?

Hi @AimeeDenny ,
This fix is very easy. All you need to do is reach out to the teacher of the canvas course that you want to be a parent of a child for, and they will have the ability to change your role to Observer and link you to your child with no problems. From there, you'll be a parent.
