WHy move the due dates to a different screen?

Question

Canvas is already so bloated! Why do I now have to make an additional click to open a separate screen to set a due date? You keep making it worse!

And can we stop with the 17 Captch requests?? I don't have time for this crap!

And I like the title I wrote for this post! You're telling me how to address the community now? Why is this even a thing?

Canvas recently heard our feedback and they have plans to add the due date and assign to field back to the editing page instead of it popping out from the right. They have yet to say when they will make it back, but here is an article about it.
