Is there a way to receive a notification when a student responds to faculty in the grade book space?
We are having to always check back into the grade book to see if a student as responded.

This should be possible. You'll want to have the teachers change their notification settings, with the key setting here being the one for "Submission Comments". I believe that the notification for that is a daily summary by default, but they could change it to immediately to receive a copy of every student comment right away, or just ensure that the daily summary option is selected and it's not totally disabled or something.
