Hello,
I was wondering if anyone knows how students can access Collaborations when Elementary is turned on? There is no Course Navigation Bar for them to access the subject navigation.
Thanks.
Hello @allison88 ,
Thank you for reaching out to the Instructure Community regarding your question concerning enabling Collaborations when the Canvas for Elementary theme is applied. Collaborations would not be visible to students in the Course navigation menu when the Canvas for Elementary theme is applied to a course. You cannot enable it under Course navigation in the Course settings, as you normally can, with a non-Canvas for Elementary themed course. We have a feature comparison document regarding Canvas for Elementary here as well, Canvas for Elementary Feature Comparison - Instructure Community . So, any materials students would access would be in the Modules, Schedule, or the Resources (external/LTI tools) tabs. Further, I might suggest, as a workaround, when adding a student to a Collaboration, they may still be able to access them via Groups, under their Global Navigation menu.
I hope this helps ! Again, thank you for reaching out to the Instructure Community.

So I could see three ways to improve it, from worse to better: Don't make importing Announcements the default. Make some sort of "Select All" or "Delete All" in Announcements Import the…

One of the teachers has registered for Google Services in her Canvas account. However, she is unable to link the Google Assignment LTI as an external tool for assignment submissions. The error message is "account not linked" after clicking continue at this step: When I try to go into this teacher's course as an admin and…

The line between "skills" and "competencies" gets blurry fast, and "learning how to learn" means different things depending on who you ask. We're putting together an Educast 3000 podcast episode on all of it, and your questions will shape the conversation. Curious how to teach students to learn independently, what the…
