The term is still open, the class has no "available until" or due date but the teacher cannot enter grades. I am an admin and can enter grades. Any ideas as to why they cannot?

The couple things that come to my mind first are:
Let us know if either of these things end up being the problem. If they are not, we might be able to some up with some additional ideas on what could be going on.

Is there a Grading Period associated with the course? The Term is different from the Grading Period, and a closed Grade Period will prevent instructors from entering grades but will allow Admins to do so (I think).

In the event that you are still needing assistance, take a look at the other replies on this topic, it seems to me that one of the suggested settings are likely your issue. Assignments in closed grading periods or section participation dates may be causing your issue.
When in Speed Grader, under the "Grade by question" option, the Next Student and Previous Student buttons no longer work.

The fact that the teacher's gradebook view only displays the letter grade in the "override" column makes it difficult for the teacher to review grades, as the numerical grade entered cannot be determined in that view.
Screen readers seem to read out the LaTex and not the equation.
