Hello, I created some groups for my students so they can submit the same homework in a group. They can choose their teammates. I don't know why I could not join a team when I used the 'Student View'. Appreciate any help or suggestions.
Hi @YuJiang1208 ...
Even though when you use the "Student View" to view your course as a student, it does put a "Test Student" student in your course "Grades" page. However, you'll also notice that it does not add the "Test Student" role to your "People" page. The "Test Student" is not an actual student...even though you can view parts of the course as if you were a student using this functionality. So, unfortunately, it is correct that you would not be able to add the "Test Student" role to any Groups that you have/had set up within your course.
Sorry that I don't have better news for you, but I hope this helps to answer your question.

Our district has a max score students can earn when they re-assess on something (like a quiz). Does Canvas have any settings to set that max score to allow kids to retake a quiz and not have the teacher go in and manually change the kids raw score to the max amount they are allowed?
I'm testing whether Mastery Paths can be used to give students early access to an item based on their score, while making the same item available to everyone else on a later date. Here is my setup: A 4-point assignment is the source for the Mastery Path. Students scoring 75–100% are assigned a Solutions item. The Solutions…
Faculty are wondering if they can make individual motifications from the Gradebook setting rather than having to go to the Discussions themselves to open up and recompute scores. We find where it adjusts for all students in mass but it would be nice to have that feature independently as faculty go to Gradebook to get an…
