Using Redirect Too

After I configure the Redirect Tool to create a menu item to link to a specific module, when I click on the newly-created menu item a page pops up that only says "REDIRECT." If I click on that, it takes me to the correct Module…but how do I force it to go DIRECTLY to the module instead of the page that says "REDIRECT."

Are you wanting your Redirect link to go to the "Modules" index page, to a specific module on that page? Or, are you wanting the Redirect to go to a specific content page within the module? If you want the first option, this is what I did:

1. On a random content page, I used the RCE to create a link to a specific module.
2. Looked at the HTML for that link, and found something like: href="/courses/#######/modules/####### (these will obviously be your own numbers for the course).
3. When you create your Redirect, the URL in your URL Redirect field will look something like this: https://SchoolName.instructure.com/courses/#######/modules/####### (but make sure that your ID numbers from your own course are displaying there instead of all the pound signs).
4. Make sure to update the "Name" field if you don't want to call your link the default "Redirect Tool".
5. Uncheck the option for "Force open in new tab (For External Links Only)"
6. Check the option for "Show in Course Navigation".
7. Click the "Add App" button.

Also, I am not sure if you saw this or not, but in the June 2026 Canvas Release Notes, there is a new feature that is similar to the Redirect Tool, but it looks to be a more native tool to the platform instead of using an LTI:
