Instructure has recommended that my institution use You-Attend instead of Roll Call Attendance. I'm having a hard time finding information on it in the guides. Does anyone use You-Attend? Any advice, recommendations, or resources to share?
Hi @DSSCC …
If you are asking about this product, https://you-attend.com/ , it looks to be a third-party tool that might integrate with Canvas. You wouldn't find any documentation about You-Attend on the Canvas Community because it's not an Instructure product. In taking a look at You-Attend's website, I went to their "Documentation" page and clicked on the first link for their PDF of the Product Specification Guide. On the last page, under the heading, "Product Components", it says:
SAAS application The core of You-Attend is the SAAS (software as a service) application, hosted by You-Attend, and accessible to all users after successful implementation of the LTI integration in the customer’s learning management system.
While this does not mention Canvas specifically, it does mention "LTI integration", and so you'd need to reach out to You-Attend directly to see if integrating this third-party tool would be an option. Keep in mind there may be a cost to your school for this. If you are a Canvas administrator for your school, you'd want to speak with You-Attend or set up a demo with them if they offer that kind of thing. If you are not a Canvas admin at your school, then you'd want to connect with someone who is at your school so that you can start that conversation.
I hope this info will be helpful to you. Good luck!
I wonder why they recommended that. Are you currently using Roll Call? Is it not meeting your institution's needs?
Hoping someone can explain for me. We're using pacing to avoid manually dating regular assignments each quarter, but the dates I see are based on when the course was instantiated, while students see dates based on when they were added to the course by [backend software I don't know anything about, presumably]. If I set…
Has anyone else had issues with an influx of duplicate users in Canvas? Ours is currently in the form of an email that already exists, becoming a new user - and not automatically merging with the user ID with the same email that also is linked to our SIS ID correctly as well. For example, user 1 is xyz@gmail.com without a…
Canvas Portfolios provide a powerful platform for students to document their learning journey, reflect on their progress, and showcase competencies. However, in programs where multiple educators are involved in assessment—such as team teaching, moderation, or competency-based evaluation—there are important questions about…
I wonder if others have had this response, but I think it is troubling messaging for students that, no matter how well they may do on an assignment, they are given a signal that anything below a perfect score should be marked/denoted with a red color, as if those grades are poor, or even lesser. I think it is harmful for…
I have a student that was in a tag called "ac" and recently moved him to a different tag, "AC." I did ensure the old tag was removed; however on a canvas PAGE he sees both pages the "ac" and "AC" Canvas Pages. I removed the assigned tags to the page and the one tag to the student thinking maybe if I remove and reassign…
