I'm looking for ideas on how to best reach this goal. I would like to create a course, add a section to that course for every month of the school year (our school year is 11 months), and then have those 11 sections start on 11 different dates throughout the school year, so that students have 11 different opportunities to start the course throughout the year (the course only takes 8 weeks to complete).
I was told that the most straightforward (though time-consuming) way to go about this, would be to edit each individual assignment to have 11 different dates. Except, I am trying to do this with 100+ courses, many of which have 100+ assignments, and that's just not possible.
Then I discovered the course pacing function. I was able to create my sections, space them out how I wanted to, and achieve my desired result. That was until I tried to enroll students in sections. No matter how I adjust and configure settings in this course, the course pacing dates always seem to adjust based on the day that I added the student to the course. It looks like I could avoid this by leaving the section locked until the course start date (except some students like to get 2-3 week head starts, while others might not ask to take the course until the day of).
Another option, it seems, is that I could adjust the student's course pacing individually, instead of by section. But I'd like to avoid that as well, since there are quite a few students.
Is there a way to disable student enrollment date adjustments when using the course pacing function? I know that the point of the function is to accommodate rolling enrollments, but for the sake of organization + our teachers, I'd like to only have 11 different start dates throughout the year, instead of 365. What function might best serve this idea (even if it isn't course pacing)?
