I am trying to use Learning Outcomes for my course which has many sections each term. We currently have no institutional, school or program outcomes. I created a set of outcomes for Section 1 of my course. I then labelled every question in the item banks I was using in my first quiz (New Quiz) of the semester. I got a nice outcomes report. I then copied the quiz to Section 2, and all the outcomes disappeared. I tried copying both the outcomes that I created and the quiz at the same time, and still the outcomes disappeared. How do I set up outcomes and label them in item banks so I can reuse them in every section of my course and over subsequent terms? Is there any way to label a whole item bank as having a learning outcome versus, for example, labeling each of the 12 questions in the item bank?
Part of my reason for doing this is to assist me in generating accreditation reports that are due every spring. Without this, I must read every quiz that serves multiple outcomes, assign the questions to outcomes, and calculate the percentage for each student. I have hundreds of students. This manual process, even with the assistance of a database system, takes me 2-4 weeks of my vacation each year.
