Help with installing Redirect Tool. Stuck here:
It looks like through the new app center you can only use version 1.3 and if that is what you are using because you want to send info along with the link or etc., I might not be of much help. You can go here and see if you can make more sense of it: https://help.goopenmichigan.org/support/solutions/articles/42000098532-how-to-install-the-lti-1-3-tool-in-canvas https://canvas.instructure.com/doc/api/file.lti_dev_key_config.html However - if all you want to do is put in a link to a static URL that does not need authentication or the like, then do it the old way. Go to Settings, Go to the Apps tab, search for "Redirect" and use the old tool with blue arrow. Paste in your URL, choose your placement, and name it. That's it.
Hi,
Please check if this tool has LTI 1.1 or LTI 1.3 available for Canvas (LMS), also, always check with Canvas admin team to make sure there is proper access like SSO.
Some of the applications, you just need to add a url to redirect, some have deeper connection with you need to have a consumer key and shared secret to shake hand.
Hope it helps a bit
I agree with this. The "old" way to use the redirect tool, as you outlines, still works fine. It seems like that tool probably shouldn't even be listed in the new "Apps - Discover" area since it's really non-functional. I'm going to tag @AlexisNast on this, as it might be something she's able to get corrected (or let us know if there's something we are missing). I'd also encourage everyone to file a support case on this to get Instructure's attention.

Thanks for tagging me in! Yes, Redirect is LTI 1.1 only, and the new area only supports LTI 1.3 so far. Right now we're actually building out support for adding links to navigation bars natively into Canvas so that you won't have to add a tool at all (and we'll build a migration pathway and permissions as well.) Because LTI 1.3 is the only currently supported version of LTI by 1EdTech we prioritized solving for LTI 1.3 first. Our next focus will be on supporting API. Further down the road (likely at least a year out right now) we're looking at options for LTI 1.1 as well as for enabling instructors to manage tools when permitted by administrators. Hope this helps and please reach out with any questions!
Hello, I have a number of assignments that require students to complete peer reviews. Because my course is self-paced and students are progressing at different rates, I created completed sample submissions using the Test Student account so that students would always have a submission available to review. However, when I go…
Hi, I can't get this working right. I've created outcomes where the calculation method is to meet mastery twice. I've aligned them to several assignments. The grade book displays mastery as met when it's only been achieved on one of the assignments. It's not showing positive or negative for the other assignments. (I've…
Yesterday, after much trial and error…I concluded the new quizzes matching choice options do not work as I expected, and have used with other LMS. I thought that I could provide students a matching choice quiz with multiple attempts that would report incorrectly answered matches on the first attempt, and display the…
I have seen documentation that says you must recopy your iCal link and resubscribe when you are enrolled in new classes, does this mean my iCal feed link changes each time, or do i just need to re-fetch the .ics file?
We use course pacing to manage due dates, because we run ~20 something courses each quarter and manually setting due dates would be a nightmare. Several courses have two core topics. We want to allow students to choose which of these they will pursue first. Is there any way to configure multiple course paces with different…
