Hi,
Let's say I send a Canvas announcement to a class. Will students whose enrollments have been individually concluded be able to view the announcement? If so, will they receive a notification?
Thank you
@TBaggenstos - my experience is that concluded students still have access to the course and can see the content in a read only state. That is, they cannot post to discussions, etc. but can still read announcements. To confirm this, I asked the PandaBot AI help agent. The response: Thank you for your question! Once a course has concluded, students can still view the course, but all content is displayed in a read-only state. This means that students can view and read announcements, but they cannot comment or participate in them. If you want to restrict students from viewing the course after the term or course end date, you can enable the option to block access after the course ends. For more detailed information, you can check the guide on restricting student access. Also: When students are individually concluded from a course while the course itself remains active, they do not receive announcement notifications. Once a student's enrollment is manually concluded, they lose access to active participation and notifications within the course.
I hope this is helpful, ~ Jeff
Thank you, that is helpful!
With the new SpeedGrader UI, we are seeing student names appear in the page title even when the “Hide student names” setting is enabled. When using Classic Quizzes, there is no option within the quiz settings to enable anonymous grading, so we rely on instructors using the hide student names setting in SpeedGrader to…
Speedgrader chaning file name when being downloaded. Speedgrader: When downloading a submitted assignment, the file name is being changed to an unrecognizable name — (Student's actual name was part of the file name — changed for privacy.) Ideas???
We are all familiar with the standard Course Calendar, where assignment due dates are automatically added. However, at my institution, we structure our assignments as Challenges that develop over a period of time, rather than just a single deadline. Currently, the calendar only highlights the "end point." It would be a…
The current placement of the "Submit" button creates a "slip" in user behavior where habit-clicking "Next" leads to an accidental final submission. I think Canvas could easily fix this by: Moving the Submit button away from the navigation buttons (maybe above the question instead of below it) and/or Adding a "Confirm…
