In the past, a message popped up that I had unsaved edits, but this time that didn't happen when I closed a tab inadvertently (with Canvas still open). Is there a trick for recovering my edits? In this case, it is a dscussion I was editing.

I do not think it will be possible. Only way I know of to get back deleted information is with undelete. However, the item needs to have been saved first. I saved a discussion and deleted it. it showed up with undelete. I then created a discussion and edited it, did not save it. let it sit for about 5 minutes (hoping for auto save) and then closed the window without saving. That discussion did not show up with undelete. By the way, when I closed the terminal window with the unsaved discussion, I did not get a pop up about unsaved worked.
For using undelete, go to the home page for the course and then type /undelete at the end of the url (after the course number)
Maybe someone else knows how to recover lost unsaved information, but I do not think it is possible

Thanks for the information! I'll give undelete a try and see what happens.
Each week has the same pattern of assignments, but the assignments for each topic aren't fungible. reading/quiz → writing assignment → hands-on task → inspection report I'd like to allow the student to choose which topic they want to work on each week, but I need to figure out how to get those assignments on their…
I am currently teaching a high school Spanish course, and many of my assignments use the fill-in-the-blank question type in new quizzes. The problem that I'm encountering is when a question requires a special character, such as an accented vowel (examples include: á Ó or ü) or the special letter ñ (which is a different…
Has anyone found gaps in their course analytics ? I'm currently seeing missing last view date, last participation date, and participations at overall course level, even though the same data is present at individual week and student level. Am also seeing truncated asset counts ie we are seeing only the global header counts,…
I have a new React + Flask webapp. It has its own login for users to start using the app. I have added this as an external tool in Canvas. What I want initially is to see of canvas users can start using the webapp without having to login if they click on the external tool link in a canvas course. I have 2 methods…
