Question

When I duplicate an assignment that is only assigned once to one section the date and time also duplicates.  This is very helpful when working in a schedule that rotates.

However, when I duplicate an assignment that is assigned to multiple sections separately, the dates and times aren't included in the duplicate.  This is frustrating since entering dates and times in a rotating schedule can be quite time consuming.

Am I missing something?  Is there an option somewhere to have all dates and times kept un a duplicated assignment?

I know exactly what you’re looking for! When I taught multiple sections of the same course, I ran into the same frustration when trying to duplicate an assignment that already had section-specific due dates.

You’re not alone in this request! It’s currently an idea in the Community: [Assignments] Duplicate with multiple due dates. If the feature is added to Canvas LMS, you’ll be notified there. You can also keep an eye on the Canvas Release Notes and Roadmap for updates. At this time, though, I’m not aware of any plans to add it to Assignments.

I wish I had better news to share, but I hope it helps to know you’re not overlooking a feature or setting.
