Question

1. If I don't want the attendance tool grade to count toward student grades, do I have to mark it to not count both in the tool, and in the assignment?

2. If I mark it not to count in one or both places, what will I see in the gradebook?

3. If I mark it not to count, does it matter how many points I assign it?

4. If I assign it zero points, does that mess up what the reports will look like? (Do the reports give a break down by day? Or do the reports just report a score?

@jbuchner This guide will assist you with the Roll Call Attendance Tool.  How do I use the Roll Call Attendance tool in a course?   To answer your questions.

1. You only need to edit the assignment settings and select not to count it toward the final grade.

2.The assignment column remains visible in the Gradebook but is excluded from the final grade calculation

3. The number of points is irrelevant if it's not graded.

4. Assigning zero points won't mess up reports. The reports show a daily or weekly breakdown of attendance not just a score.  These are found in New Analytics in the course.
