Creating a test from zip files of publisher text banks

I have downloaded the test banks for 18 chapters from my publisher's site. They now reside in Canvas and are accessible when searching for test banks.

I would like 2 or more chapters to be included in each question group, but I'm missing something. I can see the files, but it seems like it wants to know which questions I'd like to include. Also, I haven't been able to get a question group to include more than one chapter. And, I've only got one Q bank to show that it is from Ch 3 but it's just not working right.

It sounds like you are using "Classic Quizzes" and "Question Banks" and not "New Quizzes" and "Item Banks". Is that correct?

Continuing on with that idea, and I am not sure if you have or have not seen this guide, I will refer you to How do I create a quiz with a question group to randomize quiz questions? - Instructure Community - 1032 .

Using the guide above, you should be able to add (which is different than linking to) questions in multiple question banks (since you are looking to include two chapters, or two question banks, in the same question group).

I think @dbrace's response covers the situation where you're manually selecting questions from a bank. If you're trying to do random draw from a bank though, I don't believe you can do something like randomly draw 10 questions from Banks A and B. Rather, you'd have to do random draw from each individual bank... Draw 5 from Bank A, then 5 from Bank B. Both Classic Quizzes and New Quizzes in Canvas currently work this way, though I have heard Instructure is investigating expanding bank options in New Quizzes in the future (no guarantee on functionality or a target date though).
