Hi everyone,
It looks like the multiple rubric idea has bounced around a bit with the different feature request methodologies over the years, including a mention in New & Next 2024 according to this post, interviews in the enhanced rubrics features group, being listed as "under consideration" on the new roadmap, and this recent post checking in on an earlier suggestion it might be available in early 2026, with a response from Instructure noting that it will be considered later in the year. @YasiAfsharnive, it looks like you've worked closely with this topic and I was wondering if you might have any additional information or a tentative timeline that you could share? I was looking for more detailed information on its tile in the under construction area of the new roadmap, but couldn't see much. I was also trying to vote for it, but haven't been able to get my browser to cooperate yet.
Thank you!
Hi @Eily,
Thank you for following up on this! We know this is a highly anticipated feature and apologize for the delay. We've had to deprioritize the work and are currently in the middle of several higher-priority projects. We'll have more information later in Q3, but unfortunately I can't provide an updated timeline just yet. I'll make sure to update the blog post to reflect the current status.
Hi Yasi,
Thanks so much for your reply! Looking forward to future updates.
@YasiAfsharnive @Eily - This is something my institution is very interested in as well. While we’re still relatively new to Canvas, we are currently in the process of introducing Outcomes. One request we’ve consistently heard from faculty is the ability to either:
When Outcomes are not being used for grading/scoring, displaying ratings such as “Developing” or “Needs Improvement” to students could easily become discouraging or create confusion about their actual grade performance. Thanks for your continued support on this - we’re looking forward to seeing more progress in this area!
Thanks for sharing! We've heard similar suggestions from others - definitely cases that will be covered by the feature (once it's released:))

Our institution is setting up 9 institutional outcomes in Canvas. Several of our outcomes have multiple skill sets within the rubric. For example: Critical Reading – Skill Set A Critical Reading – Skill Set B Critical Reading – Skill Set C Our understanding is that Canvas Outcomes data reports can provide the overall/total…
I am just curiousas to why there is not a field to enter a description for an outcome at the account level? Or at least edit the rating when you attach/link an account level outcome to a rubric. When you create a new criterion for a rubric, you enter a decription for a rating, but for an account level outcome.
We use a pre- post- model to measure learning which requires student-question matching from two time periods. This requires exporting quiz data to CSV to do the analysis properly. (I can get into more detail if needed.) The New Quizzes Student Analysis CSV export has repeated blocks of ItemID then columns related to that…
Hello! A caution to my fellow Admins and support folks that Instructure updated their live-chat link (the one in the "(?) Help" menu, if you license their Support Chat service) fairly recently, but the old broken one is still online and appears as if it still functions. If someone hits the old link, after entering their…
