When are Canvas developers and UX designers going to improve how students are able to see reassigned

The Canvas student user's list view dashboard seems to be the only current way for students to see that an assignment has been reassigned. This is not helpful. At minimum, the "REDO" label should also appear on their assignment in Grades. Ideally, students will get a highly visible, prioritized notification that an assignment has been reassigned to them, and a section called "reassigned work" or something like that would appear at the very top of their grades if they have assignments that have been reassigned.

@shadowplumber When just checking this out, I noticed that reassignment requires leaving a comment. When testing this, I left a comment and assumed a notification would go out to the student. Because I had not posted the grades, the comment did not go out. I am going to put in a ticket regarding this and see if we can get any traction. I would note that the reassignment also appears on the students To Do list that appears on the Homepage of each course and on the Card View of the Dashboard.

Hi @James , any updates on this? It is still killing me. About 30% of my students every single semester have no clue they are getting assignments reassigned to them. I think there is a lot of UX work to be done here.

Allow Observers to View Instructor Comments
It would be very beneficial for observers (parents) if they could view instructor comments. If they had access to this information, they could better understand the grading of individual assignments and better understand the errors that their student made.
