Unable to assign grade in speedgrader

Hi Support ,

For Several students unable to assign grades as admin/teacher , although assignment is submitted by them , getting following error: "There was a problem updating the submission"

Error via API : "user not authorized to perform that action"

Hi @111664890950382,

It looks like you are trying to enter grades from the "Grades" area and not the "SpeedGrader". That is an important distiction because they are different areas.

I came across a previous question from July 2021 and someone posted a comment with how they dealt with it in October 2023. Hi @111664890950382 -- it's a little hard to help diagnose without being able to poke around and look at the assignment, and other parts of your course. But it can't hurt to try and clear the cache on your browser and make sure your browser is up to date. Hopefully that helps!
