I have a table and would like to make one of the columns wider.
There are a few different ways to do it.
The easiest is probably to just point the mouse to the right border of one of the cells from that column and drag it.
But for more precise control, you can select all cells in that column, then on top of the textbox, click "Table", then "Cell", then "Cell Properties", and change the width in the window that opens:

Hi @AlanCarson,
What @Gabriel33 described are two ways that you can adjust columns and rows in a table and are described (along with a video) in the How do I insert a table using the Rich Content Editor? - Instructure Community - 618220 support article.
If you want to learn more about tables in web/HTML design and accessibility, you can also check out the links below (the first two are from the same website and include a "Try it Yourself" feature but you can also try in something like a page in a Canvas course; just do not publish the page itself until ready, unless you are using something like a sandbox).

Hoping someone can explain for me. We're using pacing to avoid manually dating regular assignments each quarter, but the dates I see are based on when the course was instantiated, while students see dates based on when they were added to the course by [backend software I don't know anything about, presumably]. Has anyone else had issues with an influx of duplicate users in Canvas? Ours is currently in the form of an email that already exists, becoming a new user - and not automatically merging with the user ID with the same email that also is linked to our SIS ID correctly as well. For example, user 1 is xyz@gmail.com without a…
Canvas Portfolios provide a powerful platform for students to document their learning journey, reflect on their progress, and showcase competencies. However, in programs where multiple educators are involved in assessment—such as team teaching, moderation, or competency-based evaluation—there are important questions about…
I have a student that was in a tag called "ac" and recently moved him to a different tag, "AC." I did ensure the old tag was removed; however on a canvas PAGE he sees both pages the "ac" and "AC" Canvas Pages. I removed the assigned tags to the page and the one tag to the student thinking maybe if I remove and reassign…
Started testing the new Portfolio today. Our K-12 district is new to Canvas and never implemented a portfolio solution. I was testing the share as a studnet using the 'Anyone can view link' to an outside user = does not have a login ID for our instance of Canvas. As the outside user, I am able to open and read the…
