Left margin grade tab missing for students

Why this year my kids don't see their grades on Canvas? It tells me it has been disabled for them. How can I fix that? I have the grade button, but they don’t.  I have looked in settings and all over Canvas and I cannot find the option to able it again.

If you at the teacher of the course, you should be able to make grades visible to students again by following the  How do I manage Course Navigation links? - Instructure Community - 1020  guide to enable the grades tab.
