I have quizzes that are given on paper that I then let students submit corrections for. Is there a way to mark these assignments as resubmitted in the Canvas gradebook so that I can differentiate when a student has turned in the assignment?
The thing I do in this kind of situation is to have the student comment that they've resubmitted. I've set Canvas to send me e-mail digests of submission comments (with some delay), so I can follow up on all of those one-by-one. It's not ideal, so I'd also love to hear if there's a better way!
Hi @ChrisWitthaus,
I don't think you could manually mark as resubmitted, at least not in a way I'm aware of. Are students required to submit the corrections though? If so, I wonder if you could mark everything as missing to start with, then remove the missing designation when you receive their corrections. If it's not required that they do the corrections, this suggestion will probably not work, as it would be potentially confusing/misleading for students. Just wanted to throw it out as a suggestion at least though.

Breakout Discussions would enable instructors to orchestrate multi-phase discussions that mirror effective classroom facilitation patterns. An instructor creates a master discussion topic, then segments participants into small breakout groups for focused conversation, and finally reconvenes everyone into a unified thread…
Hi all, Quick question about the Gradebook color status for a 2-part checkpoint discussion. If a student completes the first due date (initial post) but does not complete the required replies by the second due date, is there any way for Canvas to automatically show a color (e.g., missing/late) instead of staying as…
Among all the things that I wish Canvas had is that one! Is it something that is been worked on? We had it in Blackboard (legacy) and I sorely miss and need in Canvas (we just transitioned to it from Bb). Please add this very needed feature!
My Canvas shell has three different sections that all meet at different times throughout the week. I need to be able to batch edit assignment due dates by section, but right now Canvas can't filter by section for batch edit. My only option is now to manually (tediously) edit due dates for each assignment individually.
Morning! One of the more frustrating aspects of Canvas are groups and the issues that show up when copying courses that have them. But now we have yet another issue. Most recently we have had instances where people mark an assignment/discussion as a group assignment but then do not link the discussion or assignment to any…
